The Great Schism

The great Schism was when the division between eastern and western catholic churches in 1054 it was divided into the eastern Greek speaking churches of the Byzantine empire and the Latin speaking western empire the division between these two led to creation of the western roman catholic Churches and the eastern orthodox churches also in 1378 - 1417 there was a fight between pope urban the second and Clement VII they both wanted to be pope and they both claimed to be the true descendant of St.Peter.
